Crisis on Omaha

This was a mock news report called, “D-Day: Crisis On Omaha”. Its purpose was to explore the question, “What if the Normandy invasion had occurred on June 6th, 2007? How would the modern media have reported it?” It was released on June 6, 2007, the anniversary of one of our country’s greatest battles, D-Day.
Solid Static was responsible for the entire production of the short film, from shooting the video and creating the sound tracks, to graphic design, 3D modeling, animation, rendering and effects. While the project had a limited budget and time frame, Solid Static was able to produce a product that yielded huge results for The client.
The news short was first released on military.com and featured as the “Shock and Awe” video of the day. The film was also released on YouTube and after just 24 hours of being posted, received over 30,000 viewers and earning several honors including #21 “Most Viewed of All Video’s of the Week” and #8 “Top Favorites in News and Politics” for the week. The spread virally to many blog such as www.michellemalkin.com of the New York Times.
